Thanks, everyone! Steen's Mountain has its fans (I'm one), but it's not nearly so well known as places elsewhere in Oregon--mostly rainier places!

Steens Mountain is an enormous tilted fault block, with a gentle western slope and steep eastern escarpment (seen here). It's a spectacular area and not too well known. Definitely recommended! Other parts of Oregon get lots more attention.
