Joanne and Poppies, 1974

Joanne and Poppies, 1974
Brought forward for the Vintage Photos Theme Park theme of:
FIELDS, CROPS, PASTURES
Rayleigh, Essex, England - on the way to Hockley. Taken with my Instamatic (if you couldn't tell.)
Shortly after this I think we came upon a tiny hamlet with an old stone church.

Fred Fouarge, Guido Werner, , Roger (Grisly) and 2 other people have particularly liked this photo

A beautiful photograph, golden, reminiscent of a Wyeth painting.

Charming. Are the red ones poppies? They are so lovely growing wild in Great Britain and Europe, with such a sad connection to the Great War. A well-worn pair of jeans, too. ;)

Thanks, Rick. Yes, the red ones are wild poppies. They're golden/orange in California, right?
Did you see photos of the poppy display in the moat at the Tower of London to commemorate the dead of WW1?
And patched jeans - pretty much all we wore!

Sorry for the late reply. Yes, our poppies are a bright, golden orange color. Yes, I did see the moat photos. Spectacular.

Interesting colors and great reminiscence of a time long ago.
