How cool! I was curious about this area and the cave, and I came across a page describing the Ingleton Waterfalls Trail, which your mother's school group evidently took to get to the cave. See especially a photo showing some stepping stones with the buildings at the cave entrance visible on the hillside in the distance.

Those stepping stones sure look familiar - although I guess it's a little hard to be certain that the rocks are the same ones, given the amount of streams it looks like they had to ford. And wow - have never seen anywhere in the Lake Disrtict look so parched and dry! I hear it's been a very dry, hot summer but ... wow.
