Woman's Got Soul
Woman’s Got Soul In 1963 the original lead vocalist with The Impressions, Jerry Butler released the Curtis Mayfield song “A Woman With Soul”. The single did not chart. Jerry was chair of the Rhythm and Blues Foundation board.
The Impressions’ (lead singer Curtis Mayfield, Fred Cash and Sam Gooden)1965 top thirty LP “People Get Ready” featured the opening cut “Woman’s Got Soul” (Mayfield). The single peaked at number nine R&B, twenty-nine on the Top One Hundred.
