From her 1988 album "Whitney" Whitney Houston's take on "Where Do Broken Hearts Go" hit number one on Billboard's Pop and Adult Contemporary charts, number two R&B and number fourteen in the United Kingdom. Smokey Robinson wanted the song, Whitney did not but she agreed to it because of label executive Clive Davis' insistence.
