Let's Have a Party
Jessie Mae Robinson wrote the Patti Page hit "I Went To Your Wedding" along with hits for singers like Jo Stafford and Frankie Laine. She composed "Let's Have a Party" in 1957 it was sung by Elvis Presley in his second motion picture, "Loving You" but it was never released as a single. Elvis Presley's parents, Gladys and Vernon visited the set of the film, and were in the final scene of the movie as audience members. The movie soundtracks contains the title tune along with "Mean Woman Blues", Teddy Bear" and Let's Have a "Party".
"The Queen of Rockabilly" Wanda Jackson once dated Elvis and recorded her cover in 1960 for the album "Wanda Jackson" and the single reached the top forty. Her long overdue induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame occurred in 2009.
