I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry
If somehow you missed out on the story, "Google" the man! Hank (Hiram) Williams composed and recorded "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" in 1949 and watched it peak in the top five on the country chart. This was the B side to "My Bucket's Got a Hole in It" and both were recorded in Cincinnati, Ohio. Hank Williams was American country music!
B.J. Thomas and the Triumphs (Denver Zatyka, Teddy Mensik, Tim Griffith, Tom Griffith, Gary Koeppen and Don Drachenberg) "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry" was the first charted hit for Billy Joe. The single reached the Billboard top ten in 1966.
