Wheal Pink / Pink Moors
The former Wheal Pink copper mine was located exactly here. No one would believe it today unless they knew!

Andy Rodker club has replied to slgwv clubMine shafts were conscientiously capped when spent or no longer economic. This since about 1760 - ish. Before that there was much activity and not much of that was well-documented. Only last week another back garden disappeared when an uncharted shaft opened up during torrential rains. I forget where it was but it wasn't far from St Day and even in the next street to my parents a new hole opened up in their garden a few years ago. Fortunately the house was OK. St Day is known locally as 'Sink City'!
Many thanks for your interest and visit, Steve! I know Pam J would want me to send you her best wishes and so I do willingly but think that's already been done in recent messaging on ipermail!
