Camellia bush and mackerel sky

Wow Andy - you'd think it was summer with these colours. I must admit it was a gorgeous day here - it was lovely and warm in my lounge whilst the sun was facing it, and therefore I didn't have to have the fire on - wonderful - apart from the fact it was saving me money!!!

Except there is no view when you are actually USING it, Rosa as it is the generally accepted thing to close the door! (and there aren't windows on that side! :o)

To All who can get these to grow, much less to bloom --- you are great !

When in Florida, there was a very large one planted between 2 Gardenias .. the Gardenias bloomed like crazy..

Not the Camelia .... after a freeze it gave up.

Sounds like the soil where you are may be incompatible with acid loving plants, Peggy. Camellias thrive on non-alkali soils. If i'm wrong about the soil, let me know - perhaps the atmosphere is too dry (although I doubt it where you are). A puzzling one!

Mackerel for this kind of cloud pattern is the normal term, Isabel. I can't claim the coinage here!
