Andy Rodker club has replied to RHHYes, I had a succession of great sunrises at that time (sunsets occurred at the back of my block of flats and I didn't see them!)
But these were exceptional and I guess it wasn't just that I had the opportunity of capturing them ... I suspect that the inreased volcanic activity of the preceding 2-3 years (Iceland, Sumatra, etc) and ensuing increase in volcanic dust particles in the earth's atmosphere had much to do with it.
