Wonderful place!!

The sea of fog emphasises the height here.

The two snow capped peaks are 1. on the left; El Bola del Mundo and 2. on the right; Peñalara, The latter is the highest point in the Sierra de Guadarrama and the former is visible from Madrid. In fact the former was thought to be the highest mountain in the world by mediaeval Madrid folk! (Madrid is 35 km to the left of the shot, if you see what I mean!!)

It sure is! Especially when the whole bus ride (1.5 hours) from Madrid and 3/4 of the walk up was in total fog and you didn't know if you would actully get up through it (or not). I was so happy when I did!
