Your beautiful images of your mother's garden, with that light, those flowers, those colors, as I think I have already told you , enchant me and at the same time make me so kindly jealous of this magnificence!
I have always been so fond of these ' British gardens', as we , in Italy,call them!I I've tried and tried to imitate them ... but without success! Although I always thought of having a green thumb..green fingers..insomma un pollice verde !:-O)

Well, in my sister's garden, also in Madrid province, about 40 km from me in the centre, they have tried to emulate my Mum's garden, also without success. I think Cornwall has the right degree of warmth (with mild winters) and rainfall. They decided to concentrate on fruit anfd veg instead - and very successfully too!
I supose it's always best to grow what has been estsablished as happy in an area!
