My mother and sister, 1986
HFF, everyone!
From a scanned slide taken in Algete, Madrid Province, May 1986.
I found about 50 slides in a box when I went home to Cornwall this summer for a couple of weeks. I just had them scanned here in Madrid to find that some, like this, had become somewhat degraded. Poor storage conditions probably, damp, too much light, or something. A pity. I tried to edit the few that were rescuable and will be posting them shortly - a few of Skye and that is about it!

Andy Rodker club has replied to SteAndy Rodker club has replied to Nick Weall clubBy the way, I too found some old slides from Lebanon (where I'm originally from). Some of them, taken in 1975-76, show the destruction in Beirut . They show how horrific war is. I don't even remember actually walking downtown and taking those pictures.
Andy Rodker club has replied to micrittermicritter has replied to Andy Rodker clubAndy Rodker club has replied to micritterThe majority of folk use sites such as ipernity as pure escapism from daily tedium or as escape from the horrors they see on the news.To be interested in the horrors that occur in too many places is one thing; to activate against ... well that requires a strength of character and purpose that is beyond most of us.
HFF, Andy. :)
HFF and Best wishes for the weekend....Rosa.

HFF and a great weekend Andy! Greetz, Christien.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Valfal" I feel more detail is required, Paul.
And think I can re-assure you!
I fear it may have been partly my fault and partly poor circumstances surrounding storage, rather than any intrinsic issues with the slides themselves.
I seem to have left them in their plastic boxes but the lids had come half off, exposing them to the elements. Cornwall is a notoriously damp part of the world and I only spent about 2 weeks, every 2 years in my room and then in summer. So it was never heated in the winter. My room was (is) situated under the roof - a converted attic. It is also a 'flying freehold' which means it extends over the neighbouring property. They had a coal fire until very recently and the smoke used to escape straight into my bedroom in winter. It seems that the damp + smoke particles attached themselves to the slides and ate into them, accounting for the blotches and speckles on many of them and much worse on others. A few escaped relatively unharmed.
That's my best guess!
So, unless you have these adverse conditions or similar, I bet your slides are quite safe!!
:o)
Best wishes,
Andy"
HFF Andy.............i hope you enjoy the weekend.
