Situé à 10 km d’Oaxaca le site archéologique de monte Alban a été fondé par le peuple Olmèque au cours de la période zapotèque (200-600 après J-C).

Les véritables fouilles archéologiques de ce site avec des techniques réellement scientifiques furent entreprises en 193.

Pas besoin de préciser que pour bénéficier d’une lumière favorable et éviter les hordes de touristes, mieux vaut arriver tôt le matin.
