A winter ramble

As Winter took hold of this spot just to the north of Pendle Hill one can see and understand the real beauty of snow and light. Taken thirteen years ago whilst visiting a nearby hostelry for a birthday celebration. It was one of our coldest days for many years at -8C in the middle of the day but this short walk to what to us was a familiar spot was well worth the frosty fingers.

This is an outstanding shot Herb...........particularly when viewed large! I love the light and the beautifully dramatic sky. The snow-covered landscape is gorgeous and I love the overhead branches. The fence and path make great leading lines. Nice to see the sheep too.

A range of 49C between this and your heat. Its not that cold this year so far but getting colder this week with possible snows too. I know you would enjoy a bit of this kind of weather as if nothing else, it would prove you with a completely new type of landscape.
