I was trying out some new equipment when I thought I would try Carina as it was over head. At one point I had to go inside the smoke was so strong and the Guiding got very bad. Only the Second shot I have done that was almost totally edited in PixInsight never see the amount of nebulocity around the main nebula. the mount stopped as the house next door got in the way enjoy the Southern hemisphere at 900mm. DSLR @ 600mm same scope.

DJ the smoke at the moments is coming from pre summer burn offs and trying to make sure we don't suffer from very bad fires. it has been very bad smoke burns in the day and the sea breeze brings it all back in the afternoon/night. it was very uncomfortable out there so I had to come inside. Glad you like the southern Jewel but looking like a Ghost.

the size of the BBQ would have fed all of Europe in one go. the burn offs go a long way to stop the summer fires getting out of control. even tonight the overriding scent is smoke you just have to put up with it.
