Certainly not in my yard but if you click the link above you will see the optimum that can be got. I would be happier with 4 hours of shot as you gain a huge amount of detail but the house got in the way. many thanks.

I see your complaints about your photo - we are always harder on ourselves than we need to be. Don't compare - this photo is a great accomplishment and quite beautiful. Can you learn from it and move forward? I hope it helps you go where you want. For me, I'm thoroughly enjoying this one!

The complaint is not about the photo but more the computer program. More and more I think some thing has not been filled in correctly so its the long process of back tracking to find it. All of the programs was "so called plug and play".

I did not want to quit but knew how to do it old school which I did but the link above in Nicks comment will show you what can be done. that is shot with all filters and much, much longer time. Once I get this all working I am lucky that one of my wife's cousins is on a farm out in the black part of the sky away from pollution and is more than happy for me to got out and spend the night out there. this is safer than me going just out into the wild and the potential to my harm.

I think the shot came out well for such a short time will be one I will try again. to get a good shot you need about 4 hours of data to get the full potential of the stars and Nebula's.

You just go from strength to strength my friend. Loved the dragons once I found them. Great stuff.

Cheers, Herb

it was a huge surprise to get to this amount of detail but a huge mass of stars causes the detail to be lost . I am waiting for a clear night to see if it all works as it should finally so I can really take some photos. many thanks when Its all going wrong Its great to get some good feed back.
