Thanks Ko I do want to get all the shots I did early in the year again with the benefit of learning more. It has not been easy but well worth while trying to learn a very different discipline. I do believe it is much easier in the Northern hemisphere than in the Southern but I am not moving just yet.

Thank you get a very different view of is when you use a longer lens that's for sure. We both see this in the night sky but you get a better detail and colour the only way I will ever do better is a computerized head. the down side its not as portable as this is and it still had a few extra bits that have to go out as we to make it worth while.

The night sky can be a big place Steve. Looks like traveling with this 300 prime lets you go where others fear to tread!
Cheers, Herb

it sure is a big place out there but a very interesting place. Having grown up with books from my fathers collection I am enjoying these shots as they bring to life what was on the pages. As a discipline I would recommend it but there is a very big learning curve and I know I don't know the half of it yet. the prime is better than the zoom by a mile still a few things to learn on it though and how it handles the night sky.. certainly helps to have dark skies as you can get more clearly.

Like me you are also up for the challenge but may be not quite this one. I am clouded in for a few weeks. many thanks and glad like me you enjoy this.
