Busy night.

Busy night.
I convinced my wife to come out with me and see the milky way for the first time in her life. we get to Lake Clifton to find about 15 people all over the walk way. the tide was high so the water in this lake also was much higher than i have seen before look at the PIP. Enjoy WA.

gezginruh, , Tanja - Loughcrew, tiabunna and 14 other people have particularly liked this photo

Both photos are fabulous, as usual! I can understand there were so many people in such a clear night!

it was a very nice night you where not cold but the wooden jetty is not great for movement so it was a case of stay still. this is hours drive from home down the coast. the night started very still no wind but when we got here it was starting to pick up, no stars on the water.

Really beautiful, we never see it. I saw the Milky Way once in Greek, many years ago. There is too much light.

thank fully the EXif is still the same

Nikon D600 full frame, Samyang 14mm F2.8 @2.8, ISO 3200 , WB 4000, 20 sec exposure taken as verticals on a calibrated tripod head movement 30 degrees. the key is the program you stitch with PTGui works the best you find no overlaps show as you see in most programs. a days stitch program does not make a good night stitch program this may help

many thanks Steve, one other question, do you use any kind of fillter?
Steve Paxton club has replied to Ko Hummel club
14 mm lens is no easy one for filter so no but i could use one on my 16-35mm F4 but for the fact its an F4 and you loose even more light with the filter. fair question.

Superb Milky Way bow shots, Steve. I've just been reading your notes on "how to" and see that you're using 10 shot panoramas - my poor computer would have a conniption if I hit it with that much at ~40mb each! And wishing you HFF and a great weekend.

This was done on a very old (8 year old) computer with 16 GB Ram it was slow but you can see the result i would give it a go. i had to update my computer as the old one started to fail i now have 32 GB Ram does make a difference but the old one did all the but the latest page on Ipernity. HFF to you enjoy the night.
