South Stack Lighthouse.

South Stack Lighthouse.
South Stack Lighthouse was built by Trinity House in 1809, marking a tiny islet off Anglesey at the north west tip of Wales. It is located on a small island reached via a descent of 400 steps down the steep mainland cliffs. I would have liked to climb all the way down and onto the small island, but after about 300 steps down I began to get worried about climbing back up again as I am not fully fit yet, so we spent some time looking at the birds then slowly made our way back to the top.

Next time we visit I'll go all the way down.

It looks formidable and forbidding. I can imagine the climb was back up being quite a challenge.
