The mid-summer gardens in Old Stavanger are a delight, but the arrival of huge cruise ships into port often spoils the view for the inhabitants. Tourism is supposed to be good for the local economy, but I know for a fact that many folks just stay on board.

At first sight the ship looks like a highrise....I agree, lots of people stay on board, especially on the very big ships and they certainly don't spend much on land. They only leave their dirt... About time that land power supply is installed in all ports and gets mandatory for all cruise ships!

The gardens are beautiful and very well tended Amelia. The cruise ships bring a whole new aspect to traffic problems though! This one looks very close to the buildings. A belated HFF to you. Have a good week
