Lately I've been having problems walking and so I tend to stay indoors most of the time. However it was such a glorious day, Wednesday (yesterday) that I just had to go and get around the garden. As I have donated most of my garden to wildlife (!!!!) I can only get to the top part of the garden with the grass and the blossom trees. The garden is in 4 layers, which means it's a total no-go area down there, even if it wasn't covered with weeds and wild plants!!!! - I can't walk downhill like that.

Anyway the driveway and the top garden is accessible to me, so I do walk around that part.

This is the view of some of the top garden - so you can see why I can't access the rest of the garden - it's all behind those bushes!!!! This is only half of the top part!!

This is the laburnum flowers, it's the last of the tree blossoms - I call it "yellow rain" because it hangs down in strands. My neighbour told me that I have another 3 more trees down the other part of the garden. They are also in full bloom, I can't see them, but she can - so at least it's being appreciated.

Pippin accompanied me everywhere as usual - but he, for some reason, hates having his picture taken. Every time I focus in on him, he turns around so that I have his back - lovely though it may be - I much prefer his face. When he was sitting on the wall, I quietly brought my camera up and he turned round completely - even as far as putting his head down below the wall .....

See what I mean? Such a strange cat!!!

I also noticed that the dark lilac was still flowering - the white and the pale purple have long finished, and all they have left are the dried up little bits of blossom!!! However the dark purple lilac is still showing some gorgeous beauty above my head...

I also noticed that the two rose bushes I have are both in flower. They are so old - I think they must be nearly 40 years old - they are not hybrids - so their scent is gorgeous. When I was able to garden, I used to prune them in the autumn, so as to make them stronger, but I haven't done it for over 4 years now - so they aren't as good as they could be. The colours are still amazing though.

As you can see they are over their best, but I'm hoping that there'll be more flowers later on.

The Icelandic poppies are almost taking over the small flower bed at the front of the house - it's like the sun is shining there all the time. They are wild and seem to pop up wherever they want. I don't like to get rid of them because they're so beautiful, and they make the garden look pretty.

There are also aqualegia plants (Canterbury Bells) everywhere too. All colours, white, pink, blue, dark blue, purple - whatever and they are so pretty. They always seem to manage to find somewhere to flower....

They have only just started to flower, so soon there should be more......

There is also a very old tree in my garden. Now the lilac trees and the apple trees are around 60 to 100 years old - well the fig tree is about that old, the others are all over 50 years old at least..... but the oldest tree is the yew tree. It's over 200 years old. My brother and I had a tree house in the branches - it was great climbing up there and surveying the land!!!! Our dad made it for us......

Unfortunately I can't get closer to it - you can see the ladder against the tree trunk, which took over from the wooden steps nailed into the tree.

To finish my trip to the garden, I saw that there was a Himalayan Honeysuckle or Lycesteria Formosa in it's Latin terminology! Now this suddenly appeared about 2 years ago - I'd had one in the driveway but it started to fail, so it must have sent its shoots to find somewhere else to grow.

This is facing my lounge window, so I can see it whenever I look up. There is another wild flower in the driveway called the Japanese Milkweed. Now this plant grows wherever it can, and it's often seen against walls, and it's always a pleasure seeing them......

I seem to have all wild flowers in my garden, nothing has been planted, except for the roses. I count myself blessed to have such beautiful wild flowers in my garden and driveway.

I apologise for showing pictures of flowers etc, but as I don't leave the house, there's not a lot to show you.....

In my kitchen I also have some flowers. I've got a white rose that I had maybe 12 or so years ago, it only gives me about 3 flowers a year - no scent - but the flowers are so beautiful and they do last a long time....

As you can see the petals are curling backwards and they are so beautiful. Then to finish it all off - I have an old cactus which flowers every year with lovely orange blooms. The flowers grow from the tip of each leaf, then when the flower dies off and falls off the leaf - a smaller leaf takes its place and so on......

As you can see it's starting to flower already - soon the flowers will come and then they'll show how beautiful they can be.

Okay folks, that's about it - I'll have to search my older pictures which show different places and times, then you can look at something different!!! Please stay safe and alert, and let's hope this scary time will soon be over.
