Mandi came up today and commiserated with my woes about my old tv giving up the ghost, and blanched somewhat when I told her she could have the other tv back - I think the idea of having to lift it out into her car and then even worse - her 12 outside steps to her home!!!!!!!!!!! So she said that as I was going to the recycling plant with the other defunct tv, I may as well take the other one too!!!!!!!!!!!
So off to Asda we went and discovered that if I'd only ordered and paid on line last night, I could have had £50 off!!! So I said that I would go home, go on-line and then buy it and ask my neighbours to take me back there tomorrow to collect it. "Good idea" he said - "but there aren't any left at that price"""!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So I chose the 32" flat screen tv they had on offer and then tried to pay by credit card....... thereby hangs a tale!!!!!!! Could I remember the pin number??? Could I h**l - so I entered the one I thought it was ..... NOT RECOGNISED! I tried it again - nada. So I wondered if the pin number I'd remembered went with the other card - not used that one - nope!!!!
By this time I was getting rather het up. I could feel all the eyes on my back of the other customers waiting! So I thought - to hell with it and paid by my debit card. Now my debit card is really only for my everyday bills and so I wasn't sure if there would be enough in it to pay for the tv.
With trepidation I entered the pin number and ..............wow it worked!!! I did have enough in there.
So a very very nice young man came and carried it out to the car for us, although Mandi did say that she could manage it herself!
We got home and proceeded to unwrap it and put it on the mount it came with. Wow it does look so nice. So I followed the instructions and programmed the channels in.........................
Guess what....................
I managed to get most of them in but no independant channels at all. Also I can't get my satellite channels nor my BT Vision on it. I tried and tried to no avail. So I've given up for tonight, cos I'm really knackered.
So tomorrow, when there's a better light, I'll try again and failing that........... I'll be on the phone to them and ask them why I can only get the main channels and not ITV, Channel 4, Channel 5, More 4, E4 etc.
So there might be a sequel to this story tomorrow!!!!
While Mandi was here she bought a lovely winter's coat and a dress at Asda.............
What do you think????? She hate having her photos taken, especially when she's not on holiday!!! I'm proud as punch that she's lost so much weight and is starting to wear fitted clothes. I think she's looking good.
Okay - enough now. I'm going to have a few minutes quietly then I'll wait til tomorrow!!
