Well my tv has decided that enough was enough and finally closed his eyes but not his mouth!!!!!!!!!! So I went into the other lounge and thought that it was a good thing that I'd got this other tv from Mandi, albeit it was in the wheelbarrow (some of you might remember the saga of how it got in there in the first place!!).

So I tried to wheel the barrow with the enormous 28" old tv in it. If it doesn't weigh a ton, then it should do cos it was horrendous trying to even pull the barrow down the hall. So I rang my neighbours and asked if they fancied having hernias!!!!!!!!!!!

They are lovely people and they came round immediately. They took one look at the wheelbarrow with the huge tv in it and told me that I couldn't help them. Now they are churchgoers but I'm sure I could hear the odd muttering under their breath - when they managed to get it that is...... and it wasn't polite!!!!

After a lot of huffing and puffing, they brought the barrow into my lounge. They then proceeded to lift my old tv (it's a 25") off it's place on the unit and put it on the couch. Now Anne was going red in the face and was huffing a lot, but...............when they had to lift the newer tv out of the barrow, she was really huffing!!!

They couldn't lift it properly, so it ended up rolling onto the other couch to begin with, which was nearer the unit. I did suggest they had a rest, but they were determined to finish the job. So they put the old tv into the now vacant wheelbarrow and took it out of the lounge. Peter said that he'd take it up to the recycling plant for me at a later date.

NOW ...... it was time to put the newer 28" tv onto the cabinet. I was holding my breath watching them do it, because their faces had taken on a completely different look!!!! At last it was on, but it was really heavy and you could see the cabinet slightly bending under its weight!

I plugged the aerial and other various things into the back and then Peter asked a vital question.... "Where's the remote?" - "er somewhere here I think" was my feeble reply!!! After searching around, while Peter had been trying to see if he could get it to work by pressing buttons on my universal remote to no avail, I discovered it!!!!

We then put in new batteries and tried and tried to get the damn thing to work. It wouldn't - just kept flashing the red light at us. We pressed every button we could but nothing!!!!! I know what I wanted to say, and I'm sure they both felt the same way but we were very good and kept our mouths shut!!!!!!

"I know" says Pete, "you can borrow our bedroom tv until you get another tv !" so he popped next door and brought his tv tucked under his arm!! It's a new one with built-in freeview etc. So another lot of huffing and puffing had to be done to get the now defunct tv off it's cabinet!!

It's now upside down on the other couch and I have a small 16" flat screen tv to watch. They were so kind to let me borrow it.

Guess what???????? Peter had forgotten to bring the remote, so he had to dash back to get it!! Ha ha see it's not just me!

Tomorrow Mandi is coming up to see me and we are going to go to Asda - what's new I hear you say - and they are having a sale of flat screen tv's!!! So guess what I'm going to be buying tomorrow??

Okay I've prattled on enough - I'm watching this little tv, but it's got a lovely clear picture - I'm realising how my other tv was quite old (13 years) and had got a tad blurry in its picture, so I'm getting all excited now imagining how it's going to be with my new tv. At least this one I should be able to carry myself!!
