A couple of months back, I discovered a website called The Free Dictionary. I had been looking for an offline dictionary to use when I had no internet connection, something that happened often while we are traveling in our RV. I hoped to find a dictionary that offered applications that worked on both my pc and my tablet. I downloaded several choices when I stumbled upon The Free Dictionary. As an offline dictionary, the app works very nicely and offers an offline encyclopedia and thesaurus too! When the internet is available, they also have a fully-featured website--perfect!

What I especially like is its interesting and customizable opening page which includes lots of cool features which change every day: word and article of the day, a notable birthday, and the daily quote, among other things. I found myself visiting every day and enjoyed learning about the featured topics. Built-in perks include gaining points and achievements for clicking on the presented articles.

They even have word games, something I find irresistible! Hangman, a spelling bee, a game where you match synonyms and another where you pair antonyms. There's even a game to test your grammar.

On top of this, they have a robust forum for people who are learning English (and other languages too), and in their English forum, they have a section devoted to GAMES!

Fun Games To Play!
An enormous variety of word games and picture games fill dozens of pages with the most active ones gravitating to the first page. I was immediately addicted and have been taking part in these pastimes since I discovered them.

This forum is also a great way to make new friends and I have enjoyed meeting the people who play these games too. In fact, one of my pals is now a member of ipernity! After I discovered that Kimmo is a fellow photographer, I invited him to check out my page and soon he signed up and is now a full member! Hooray!

I invite you to participate in The Free Dictionary's delightful game forum. You may just find yourself having just as much fun as me--and you may just learn a thing or two at the same time! :)
