Today has been a strange day - but I now know why I don't go shopping on Saturdays!!!! Normally I go on a Thursday afternoon and it's reasonably quiet, well it is in term time anyway. Last Thursday afternoon, when I was all dressed up and ready to go, I tried to start up the car and there was nada - zero - nothing happening. Just that little rat-a-tat-tat when you turn the key!!!!! Last night my neighbour came over with his battery charger and started the car up for me. I let it run for half an hour and was crossing all fingers that it would start today as I needed to get some groceries in.

It started immediately and I let it run for 10 minutes while I got completely ready and then drove to Morrisons (a local supermarket). I was very lucky that I found someone about to leave their car parking space so nipped in after him. There weren't any disabled parking spaces free, but no matter, at least I didn't have to keep driving around the carpark looking for a space.

That should have made warning buzzers go off, but it didn't!!!!! Or if it did, I was deaf to them. It - was - heaving!!!!!!!!! Kids, old people, young women like me who should have stayed at home!!!!

My back was killing me by the time I got home, especially as I was having to carry all the bags indoors, something which took 4 journeys back and forth. I was really thankful to be home and while I was catching my breath at last, I noticed that the sun was going down and the sky was blue with the odd fluffy cloud and I thought - aha!!!!!

I got up, checked my camera and knowing that I had a maximum of 30 minutes before sundown, I got into the car working out where it would be better to go to get a good sunset. I drove down my driveway and while I paused to check the traffic, I saw clouds coming................ lots and lots of them!!!!! There was no way there was going to be a sunset. So I had to turn round and come back home.

I had the camera all ready and so I thought I'd have another go at macros, and isn't it funny, how pretty weeds can look when they are covered in raindrops??????

I just love the way the little hairs are reflected in the raindrop...........

Then I noticed some more of the mombretia corms lurking outside their little beds.......

and look............. a daisy somehow surviving in the grass..............

Even stalks can look pretty with raindrops on them...........

The ivy has loads of berries on it, no doubt ideal for the little feathered things........

One of the last of the rowan berries caught on the old wooden cover of the coal store.

So I'm sorry that there are no sunset pictures, maybe tomorrow eh?
