Buena presentación. Entre el tejido punto de aguja y el ganchillo o crochet tengo confusión, pero el tríptico tuyo es una buena presentación y el PiP con la hermosa casa si que tiene parecido con el primer reclinatorio que es el más amplio. Buen jueves Rosa.

These have been beautifully sewn Rosa..........and the detail you've captured is superb, especially when viewed large. So colourful too. I especially like the pair of Robins.

The PiP is gorgeous and it does indeed look like the cottage on the kneeler. A super collage, very nicely presented.

My eye was drawn to them straight away Keith. I had to pick them up and have a good look :-) Maggie calls it cross stitch, which I have heard before but couldn't think of the correct term.

I would love to know how old the kneelers are and if the present occupants of the cottage had a hand in the making of it. The robins are gorgeous and it has the name Mildred along the top, so I would think that is whose work it was.

Superb subject here Rosa making an excellent collage. In extra large I can see individual stitches, hours and hours of work.

My daughter used to do this ... in the UK we call it cross stitch because of the way the stitches are crossed when sewn, each in exactly the same way so that all stitches look identical. The material most frequently used is Aida which comes in different gauges of fine to heavy duty, with ready made holes to ensure evenness of stitches, depending on the thickness of thread used, from silk through to wool. Real experts will use any material without guide holes. I'm not sure which countries other than UK call it cross stitch, certainly in USA it's called needlepoint.

As I mentioned to Keith, they caught my eye straight away Maggie. Such beautiful work and thanks for the 'cross stitch' comment. I just couldn't think of it, but you are right of course. Thanks also for the interesting information. Have you got any pieces of your daughter's work? It must take a lot of patience and care.
