Wow,liebe Rosa,da gib's von mir Applaus für deine tollen Nahaufnahmen dieser Schmetterling,sie haben sich sehr schöne Blüten ausgesucht,somit heben sie sich wunderschön auch ab,schön ist dein Admiral und dieser Schmetterling in deinen Pip,bei mir wird er Große rKohlweißling (Pieris brassicae) genannt,man erfreut sich immer über diesen Besuch und wenn man sie auch so schön erwischt liebe Rosa :))

Thank you Edna. They didn't stay still for very long, but one of them came indoors today! I waited until it was still, on the wall and put it out. It was not at all grateful, and flew off! :-)

Butterflies are extremely valuable indicators of the state of the environment.

They are Pat and I am pleased that there are more in my garden this year than last year.

Two very attractive images of these beautiful butterflies Rosa on their colourful flowery perches. The Red Admiral is really striking and the second one I have always known as a Cabbage White, - not a very pretty name for this lovely butterfly

I wasn't so lucky with my Red Admiral yesterday.... They're so beautiful, frankly... You've managed two magnificent captures, Rosa!

They are very difficult to capture Eric. The more unusual varieties are the worst for flitting about and teasing the photographer! :-) Yes, I think you and Gunter are correct with the name. I saw a blue butterfly yesterday, but could only get a blurred shot of it :-(
