Glorious light and shadows Rosa...........easy to see why you like them so much! A great composition too. I really like the muted (almost monochrome) colour palette too!

Sophie is getting really tall since we first saw her on Ipernity..........scary isn't it?

Scary indeed! She's 5ft 9ins. I shouldn't be surprised as her dad is 6ft 5ins.

Unfortunately I don't have much time for IP, dearest Rosa, but I too enjoyed the play of light and shadow in this photo as well as the reflections on the carriages stopped at the station.
Never mind if you weren't able to photograph the train in motion ..... the long line of carriages on the right gives the photo great depth and a beautiful perspective!

I love the light and shadow, too, Rosa. The railway carriages appear to shimmer in the light. There are many elements that act as lead-in lines, that take the eye into the heart of the scene. Cheers, Joe

Wonderful light and shadows giving the effect of a B&W image with a hint of colour, I remember walking along the track bed it was hard going on the ballast I think we walked Courfe to Swanage. A couple of wet days for us, but I would rather that than the dreadful
high temperatures in southern Europe at the moment. 23°c would be fine for me :)

Railway photos are all about urgency, Rosalyn. Yours is all the more evocative! And it's so beautiful, with its superb play of light, reflections and shadow.
I just hope your shot didn't make you miss the train - and that the journey back didn't make you too melancholy :-)

Thank you for your kind comment Eric. It was a last minute decision to go to the railway station before walking back to the car park and going home. This was the last train of the day, so we were lucky to see it. You are right, a steam train journey brings back so many memories of childhood :-)
