Blick vom Säntis auf den Altmann, 2'436 m.
World Photography Day - 19. August
View from the Säntis (2'502 m) to the southeast toward Altmann (2'436 m) in the foreground and the silhouettes of the other mountains of the Eastern Swiss Alps behind it.
The Säntis is the highest mountain in the Alpstein range (eastern Switzerland). Due to the Alpstein's exposed location to the north, the mountain is a landmark visible from afar. For example, there are houses in the Black Forest and the Swabian Alb named Säntisblick. The summit of Säntis offers a view of six countries: Switzerland, Germany, Austria, Liechtenstein, Italy, and France.
The image shows an important element in photography: the light.
In this image, you can see light in many of its facets.

polytropos club has replied to raingirl clubAnd no, there is no road leading up there. You either have to hike up or take the mountain railway. :-)
