Thames Path signs
St Bartholomew's Church
|

No, I haven't stretched the image at all. St Bartholomew's church in Brighton is sometimes described as the tallest church in the land: the apex of the roof is 135 feet (41m) in height.
Given its great height, it's easily visible from the train into Brighton, despite the railway being considerably higher than the low-lying London Road area.
Inside is as simple as the exterior and you get a real impression of the height.

The Shepperton ferry
|
|
There's been a ferry service across the Thames at Shepperton for 500 years or more. It runs every 15 minutes and costs £2 for a pedestrian. You ring a bell at the jetty and someone comes out of the neighbouring Nauticalia store to take you across.

I went for a wander around the small village of Wetton towards the end of a warm September day.

I took the path towards Ecton (and went past Wetton Mill down in the Manifold Valley an hour or so later)
View From Ecton Hill

On a brief walk from Wetton to the Manifold Valley, this is the view from Ecton Hill, near Top of Ecton.
Created from 4 images stitched together in Photoshop Elements (10) to form a panorama photo (hence the stretched dimensions).

The first part of the walk followed the South Downs Way from Jevington. This chalk path is part of the route

The Sarah Hughes Brewery is renowned for its Dark Ruby Mild, and that's a pint of it just there.
