Please, Sir.........Can I have some more?"
Taken at the duck pond in Buriton, near Petersfield in Hampshire. We were sitting on a bench feeding the ducks and this female mallard obviously thought we weren't doing it fast enough :-))

She was happy to take duck food straight from my hand!

Check out the PiP for a shot of her settling down to rest after a rather large lunch.

I love the sweet little tilt of the head you've captured so beautifully Keith, which has given you a great title.....I love anything to do with Dickens :-) It looks like you fed her well seeing the PiP, where she is totally relaxed!

Two superb pictures with excellent detail in the feathers of this gorgeous female mallard :-)

Sunday greetings.

Two great images and one great story Keith. After hearing a story from 'experts' saying that feeding bread to ducks etc was very bad for them, I really don't know now to applaud or decry people (and children) giving out bread to ducks and geese. Anyway if it gets you shots like these, I can't blame you for carrying on.

Enjoy the week. Herb

Thank you Herb............I'm pleased you like the photos and the story behind them.

Just to put your mind at rest..........we never feed bread to the ducks........we buy proper duck and swan food which are especially formulated floating pellets for them.

Thank you Jenny............the ducks at Buriton are obviously used to people and are relatively tame, I think. Glad you like the photos.

Food is never enough, like for chicken. But this allows you to take two excellent portraits !

These are quite used to being fed by people I think. They'd probably struggle to find food if they were left on their own :-)))

Glad you like the portraits though.........and thanks for commenting Isabel.
