Hayling Island Beach (+PiP)

Hayling Island Beach (+PiP)
Lovely sunshine, but very cold. I liked all the patterns and textures in the sand and pebbles. These are caused by vehicles transporting new pebbles onto this part of the beach to shore up the sea defences.

Please view large, on black.

See the PiP to look at one of the huge vehicles doing the work.

Jean Paul Capdeville, buonacoppi, Anton Cruz Carro, ╰☆☆June☆☆╮ and 17 other people have particularly liked this photo

The pebbles (and some sand) get moved along the beach by the wind and tides and every few years it all needs collecting and gets moved back to where it came from. Also more pebbles get shipped in as needed.

They make great leading lines and a different kind of beach pattern. Like the PiP too. A massive vehicle.

I wonder how often they have to do that Keith? I would have been fascinated by the patterns, and it's good to see the vehicle that made them. Two very interesting shots.

Every few years I think Rosa. I think they collect up and move stuff back that has been moved by the wind and tides and also add more as needed.

Auch wenn der Strand wie eine Baustelle aussieht, verleihen die markanten Spuren dem Bild räumliche Tiefe.
