Toronto has trams, Marije, and until recently they used trolley poles, so they're complicating this view.

Thanks, George. Toronto no longer has trolleybuses, but I wondered if they might be left-over trolleybus wires. But I realized they don't look like the old trolleytbus wires. So I checked on Street View and found this is indeed a streetcar/tram intersection They second wire parallel to the streetcar wire seems to be for bracing.

As is quite common for me and your photos John, I really like this but I couldn't explain why ..!!
