Lake Abert OR (#0094)
Lake Abert in south central Oregon, a shallow lake so alkiline that there are no fish and human contact with the water is harmful. There are brine shrimp, which make it an important stopover point for bird migrations. The road on the right is US 395.

Update 7/24/2017: Thanks to SLGWV for pointing out that this is Lake Abert, not Lake Albert. I've changed all relevant photos.

I have a photo from near here ca. 2000 where the lake level is a lot higher--story of the drought.

I've seen other pictures where it looked a little more like a lake and a little less like a playa.
