Darmstadt Cambrai Fritsch Kaserne (#0152)

The entrance to Cambrai Fritsch Kaserne, where I was stationed in 1968-69. The US military ended use of the base in 2008, it had first begun operation as a German military base in 1938. There were multiple entrances to the base, but this is the one that I knew because this led to the trolley stop, which is about 2 blocks behind me.

My most memorable experience about this specific location is that a friend and I were arrested as we were returning to base one evening under the mistaken assumption that he and I had robbed a taxi driver.
