Thursday 10 September 2026 (1154) – Stephensons of Essex 311 (YW25 DFU), an Alexander Dennis Enviro200D new in July 2025, seen in Bridge Street, Cambridge working the 1120 service 8 from Bar Hill to Drummer Street. Stephensons began operating this service on 1 June 2026 replacing Dews Coaches as operator.

Tuesday 22 September 2026 (1208) – Whippet Coaches WD459 (LX11 CWA) seen on Station Road heading to Cambridge Railway Station to work the 1202 service X2 to Huntingdon. It is a Wright Eclipse Gemini bodied Volvo B9TL that was new to London Central (WVL399) in April 2011 although it had been operated by Lothian Buses, Edinburgh, Scotland before entering the Whippet fleet. It remains in Lothian livery. Seen from on board Stagecoach East 10791 (SN66 VZO).

Tuesday 22 September 2026 (1032) – A2B Bus and Coach/A2B Travel Group BU26 WPD seen at Trumpington Park and Ride, Cambridge when working the 0950 service 26 from Royston to Cambridge. It is an MCV eVoRa bodied Volvo B8RLE new in June 2026.

Tuesday 22 September 2026 (0935) – Richmond’s Coaches, Barley 892 LTV, a Van Hool T16 Astron new in April 2026 with this registration, seen parked on Trumpington Road, Cambridge. Taken from Stagecoach East 86024 (BV23 NTF) in Downing Street working service PR3 to Trumpington Park & Ride.

Tuesday 22 September 2026 (1225) – From early 2026 some Stagecoach East buses in Cambridge started to carry a sort of QR code alongside the destination display as part of a trial being carried out in the city. The codes store simple numbers used by computer vision systems and provide information to traffic signals (to give buses priority) and to traffic cameras (which regulate entry to bus only areas) If the experiment is successful it could replace the older style transponder technology which is becoming increasingly expensive to maintain. It is an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Trident new in April 2010. Left are two of the thirty MCV bodied Volvo BZL electric double deckers (86001-86030), 86011 (BV23 NRY) new in May 2023 working the Babraham Road Park & Ride service PR4 and 86004 (BV23 NRJ) new in April 2023 working Newmarket Road Park & Ride service PR2. On the right 19594 (AE10 BXG), an Alexander Dennis Enviro400 bodied Trident new in April 2010, had just departed from the Bus Station working the 1215 service 905 to Bedford.

Tuesday 22 September 2026 (1154) – A2B Bus and Coach/A2B Travel Group BU26 WXP, an MCV eVoRa bodied Volvo B8RLE new in June 2026, seen at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge when working the 0949 service 17 from Guilden Morden to Cambridge. This trip takes quite a lengthy and circuitous route via numerous villages. When it reaches Melbourn (1025) it heads into Royston (1050) then retraces its steps back to Melbourn (1101). From there it continues via Shepreth, Foxton, Fowlmere Newton, Harston, Hauxton, The Shelfords and Stapleford. Due at Addenbrooke’s at 1140 and Drummer Street Bus Station, Cambridge at 1155.

Tuesday 22 September 2026 (approx. 1146) – A2B Bus and Coach/A2B Travel Group BU05 JOK seen approaching the Bus Station at Addenbrooke’s Hospital, Cambridge working the 1100 service 114 from Chesteron. It is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro400 bodied Trident that had been new to Stagecoach Manchester (19164) in August 2007 registered MX07 HNF. No stranger to Cambridge, it had worked for Stagecoach East in the city for around nine years during which time it had carried a pink based advertising livery for Cancer Research.

Tuesday 22 September 2026 (1242) –A2B Bus and Coach/A2B Travel Group BU26 WPD city bound on Newmarket Road, Cambridge when working the 1200 Tiger service T5 from Soham. It is an MCV eVoRa bodied Volvo B8RLE new in June 2026. I had seen this bus at Trumpington earlier in the day as it the worked 0950 service 26 from Royston to Cambridge. Seen from on board Stagecoach East 86028 (BV23 NRO) working to Newmarket Park & Ride on service PR2.

Tuesday 22 September 2026 (approx. 0925) – Passenger information by the entrance to Stagecoach East 11724 (SK23 CRF) in Emmanuel Street, Cambridge. The bus is an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro 400D new to Greater Manchester South in May 2023.
