Saturday 24 May 1997 – Coaches parked at RAF Mildenhall attending the annual Air Fete. This event was one of the largest aircraft shows in the country until it ceased to be for security reasons (circa early 2000s).
Left: Copeland’s Tours of Stoke-on-Trent with lettering for subsidiary Thomson’s, MIB 346, a Duple 425 integral that had been new to Grimshaw, Burnley in February 1989 registered F545 YCK. The Copeland’s name was carried on the angled front window but is difficult to see due to reflections. The Staffordshire Knot, the traditional symbol of Staffordshire, is carried on both front corners.
Right: MCW Metroliner GBZ 4991. I believe this had been new to East Midland in October 1986 registered D50 OWJ although I didn’t record the name of the operator.
