Friday 18 September 2026 (0748) – Stephensons of Essex 496 (YX63 LHU), an Alexander Dennis (ADL) Enviro200D that had been new to Nottingham City Transport (397) in September 2013. It was seen in King Street, Mildenhall when working the 0700 service 16A from Newmarket to Bury St. Edmunds. The main Newmarket-Bury St. Edmunds service is numbered 16. This is the only 16A journey in the timetable running on schooldays only towards Bury St. Edmunds in the morning with one return trip in the afternoon. The different points served include Moulton, Kentford, Mildenhall (College Heath Road) and Culford. Just visible beyond is Mulleys Motorways LW51 ZHJ working the 0730 schooldays only service 955 from West Row to Bury St. Edmunds via Barton Mills, Icklingham, Lackford, and Flempton. It is an Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TL new to Dublin Bus in January 2002 as their AV215 (01 D 10215).

It is a former Dublin Bus Alexander ALX400 bodied Volvo B7TL which I believe was their AV248 (02 D 10248) new around January 2002.

The two Coach Services Limited departures are both shown twice for some reason and the destination for service 80 is shown as ‘Bus Interchange’ with no mention this would be the neighbouring town of Thetford. I sometimes wonder who prepares such text and whether they have any clue what they are doing.

It is an Optare Omnidekka bodied Scania N270UD that had been new to Nottingham City Transport as their 965 new in May 2009. The Omnidekka design was created by East Lancashire Coachbuilders which passed to Optare in October 2008. (The ITV website states ‘IES Breckland is the first school run for profit in Britain. IES - which stands for International English Schools - is a Swedish company which runs a chain of for profit schools in Sweden’). The name ‘Breckland’ is that given to a large area of natural heathland and forest covering South Norfolk/North Suffolk en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Breckland Far left is Mulleys Motorways YJ59 GFZ, an Optare Solo M950 new in September 2009 to Sargeants Brothers, Kington, Herefordshire in September 2009, seen in the layover bay prior to working the 0740 service 355 to Bury St. Edmunds.
