Stagecoach (ex Alder Valley) 472 (D472 WPM) in Farnborough – 2 Dec 1992 (183-9)

Wednesday 2 December 1992 – In late 1992 part of the Alder Valley business owned by Drawlane was taken over by the Stagecoach Group becoming ‘Stagecoach Hants and Surrey’.

Iveco 49.10/Robin Hood midi-bus number 472 (D472 WPM) had been new to Alder Valley South in November 1986 and was seen at work in Gifford Drive, Farnborough. It now had Stagecoach fleetname vinyls applied on the former Alder Valley livery.

In the 1970s to mid 1980s by wife’s parents lived in an adjacent road to this scene so I got to know the area quite well. They then moved to Suffolk so I hadn’t been to Farnborough for about six or so years but here I managed to drop in when passing through on a business trip.
