Suffolk County Council coaches parked in Bury St. Edmunds – 16 Feb 1990 (111-6)
Friday 16 February 1990 – Suffolk County Council vehicles parked at the New Shire Hall in Bury St. Edmunds. Left to right:

C304 NHD, a Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied Bedford YNT new to Brown’s Coaches of South Kirby in March 1986. After service with SCC the coach was operated by Pat Carroll of Drogheda, Ireland registered 86 LH 1537.

BRT 788Y, a Duple Dominant bodied Ford R1114 new in February 1983.

HAY 202V, a Caetano Alpha bodied Bedford YMT new to Lee & District Chesham in November 1979.

RGV 692V and RGV 690V, Duple Dominant bodied Bedford YMTs new in April 1981.

Bury St. Edmunds was the county town of the county of West Suffolk but, as a result of local government re-organisation in 1974, the County of Suffolk was created with its administrative centre based in Ipswich. Only built in 1968, the New Shire Hall building became redundant for its original purpose but was subsequently used by the police. In 2015 it became a Premier Inn hotel.
