Suffolk County Council AY56 BJO at Newmarket – 15 Sep 2006 (565-5A)

Friday 15 September 2006 - For the new school year Suffolk County Council added some Marcopolo Viaggio bodied MAN coaches to their fleet. AY56 BJO was seen at the Rookery bus station in Newmarket when working service 982 to Bury St Edmunds.

SCC has run quite a sizeable bus and coach fleet which, in this area, is based at Rougham to the east of Bury St Edmunds. In addition to being employed on charter work from SCC education establishments and residential homes etc the vehicles also work daily schools and college services which carry ‘nine hundred series’ route numbers. These are primarily for pupils and students but some services are shown in public timetables and are available to the general public - if anyone is intrepid enough to travel on the same bus as 50 or so school kids!!!.
