January 1983 - Suffolk County Council Education Department Strachan bodied Bedford SB5 NGV 185M. New October 1973 to what was West Suffolk CC. Seen at Mildenhall Upper School.

June 1980 - Suffolk County Council Education Department JRT 36K seen at Ipswich College. A Strachan bodied Ford R192 new to what was the East Suffolk CC in September 1971.

June 1980 - Suffolk County Council Education Department FRT 30J seen at Ipswich College. A Strachan bodied Ford R192 new 1970/1971.

November 1984 – Suffolk County Council GSX 113N, an Alexander Y type bodied Bedford YRT new to Edinburgh Corporation in January 1975, seen at Mildenhall Swimming Baths.

Tuesday 21 May 1991 – Some of the school/college related services operated by Suffolk County Council were also available to the general public. Duple Dominant bodied Bedford YMT RGV 690W was seen here between Barton Mills and Mildenhall as it worked the 1710 service 403 from Bury St Edmunds (West Suffolk College) to Lakenheath. It was one of four such coaches new to SCC in April 1981. (RGV 690W-RGV 693W).

Wednesday 22 May 1991 – Suffolk County Council RGV 690W seen in the evening sunshine as it travelled between Barton Mills and Mildenhall when working the 1710 service 403 from Bury St Edmunds (West Suffolk College) to Lakenheath. In essence this was a student service but was also available to the general public. One of four such Duple Dominant bodied Bedford YMTs new to SCC in April 1981 registered RGV 690W-RGV 693W.

Left is MTV 504P, a Plaxton Supreme Express bodied Bedford YMT new to Barton as their 504 in May 1976. Right is C304 NHD, a Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied Bedford YNT new to Brown’s Coaches of South Kirby in March 1986. After service with SCC the coach was operated by Pat Carroll of Drogheda, Ireland registered 86 LH 1537. Bury St. Edmunds was the county town of the county of West Suffolk but, as a result of local government re-organisation in 1974, the County of Suffolk was created with its administrative centre based in Ipswich. Only built in 1968, the New Shire Hall building became redundant for its original purpose but was subsequently used by the police. In 2015 it became a Premier Inn hotel.

After service with SCC the coach was operated by Pat Carroll of Drogheda, Ireland registered 86 LH 1537.

Tuesday 9 November 1999 – Suffolk County Council E111 WAW, a Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied DAF SB2305 new to Elcock of Telford, Shropshire in November 1987, seen parked on Parkway, Bury St. Edmunds. SCC also acquired E222 WAW from the same source. Both had the low driving position and consequently the deep front windscreen layout more familiar on the higher 3500 model Paramount.

Early May 2002 – Suffolk County Council G102 JNP, a Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied Dennis Javelin new to Whittle’s Coaches in April 1990, parked near the Mildenhall swimming pool on a school to baths contract.

Week commencing 6 May 2002 – An old printing press used for decades to produce the Mildenhall Almanack seen being delivered to the Mildenhall Museum on board a preserved steam lorry. A more modern vehicle in the form of Suffolk County Council G102 JNP, a Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied Dennis Javelin new to Whittle’s Coaches in April 1990, is passing by en route to the swimming pool on a school to baths contract.

B588 NJF was seen at King Street, Mildenhall when working the 0738 service 152 from Beck Row to Bury St. Edmunds. It is a Plaxton Paramount 3200 bodied DAF SB 2300 that was new to Lewis of Pailton near Rugby in February 1985. It carries the blue and white livery that replaced the earlier orange and cream.
