Suffolk County Council RGV 690W and SHD 293P at Bury St. Edmunds – 21 Feb 1990 (112-9)
Wednesday 21 February 1990 – Suffolk County Council vehicles parked at the New Shire Hall in Bury St. Edmunds.

Left, in the background, is RGV 690V, a Duple Dominant bodied Bedford YMT new in April 1981.

Right, in the foreground, is SHD 293P, a Plaxton Supreme bodied YMT new in May 1976 to W. R. & P. Bingley of Kinsley. The Bingley business was purchase by the West Yorkshire PTE in April 1977.

Bury St. Edmunds was the county town of the county of West Suffolk but, as a result of local government re-organisation in 1974, the County of Suffolk was created with its administrative centre based in Ipswich. Only built in 1968, the New Shire Hall building became redundant for its original purpose but was subsequently used by the police. In 2015 it became a Premier Inn hotel.
