Château en robe fleurie

Aujourd'hui mairie et musée de la préhistoire, le château de Rânes a été construit à partir de 1404. De cette époque subsiste le donjon à créneaux et mâchicoulis (accessible à la visite, il faut monter pour découvrir le magnifique panorama). Les reste du bâtiment date de la fin du 16ème et du 18ème. Le site a souffert des bombardements de 1944 et a été restauré après la guerre.

CASTLE IN FLORAL DRESS. Today town hall and museum of prehistory, the castle of Rânes was built from 1404. The keep with battlements and machicolation dates from this time (open to the public, you have to go up to enjoy the wonderful panorama). The rest of the building dates from the end of the 16th and 18th centuries. The site suffered from the bombings of 1944 and was restored after the war.

SCHLOSS IM BLUMENKLEID. Heute Rathaus und Museum für Vorgeschichte, wurde das Schloss von Rânes ab 1404 erbaut. Aus dieser Zeit stammt der Bergfried mit Zinnen und Pechnasen (zur Besichtigung freigegeben, man muss hinaufgehen, um das herrliche Panorama zu geniessen). Der Rest des Gebäudes stammt vom Ende des 16. und 18. Jh. Das Gelände litt unter den Bombardierungen von 1944 und wurde nach dem Krieg restauriert.
