... ist die ehemalige Residenz der Würzburger Fürstbischöfe, 1720-1744 im Rohbau entstanden und bis 1780 fertig ausgestattet, die zu den bedeutendsten Schlossanlagen des Barock in Europa gehört. Im Untergeschoss der Gartensaal mit direktem Zugang zum Hofgarten, ausgestattet mit monumentalen Deckengemälden von Johann Zick 1750. Im PiP1 das Deckengemälde "Rast der Diana" und in PiP2 "Göttermahl".
Im 1. Stock ist der sogenannte Kaisersaal, in dem immer wieder bedeutsame Konzerte geboten werden.
Die Residenz mit Hofgarten und Residenzplatz im Süden Deutschlands wurde 1981 als außergewöhnliches barockes Gesamtkunstwerk in die UNESCO-Welterbeliste aufgenommen.
