The southern part of the island offers with De Hors and the Mokbaai an extremely varied dune landscape with wet dune valleys, lakes, heathland, a bay and a wide sandy area. Here the dunes are in motion and the wind and the tides always create new dunes. The area is very popular with migratory birds.
