A makeshift fence using local bits and pieces by the looks of it. I'm g;ad I looked at the map otherwise I wouldn't have known why these bollards (Capstans?) are here.

Thanks a lot, Amelia! In a way that's a very tyical West Coast fence, building from bits and pieces is quite common there. Inhabitants are quite a special tribe, at the famous Hokitika Wild Foods Festival whitebait is the "harmless" food, you can have all sorts of larvae and grubs too;-)

Besten Dank, Uli! Dort an der Westküste leben viele exzentrische Leute mit Pioniergeist, da wird alles verwertet. Der hier hat Bahnschwellen, Treibholz und alles mögliche Maritime genommen;-)

Merci vielmals, Antje! Bei uns hat es nicht so schönes Treibholz! Dort waren die Strände voll und ich habe es bedauert, dass man das im Flieger nicht mitnehmen kann.
