Cockburn tank

The water tank at Cockburn is one of the most obvious remains of the extensive railway yard that once existed here when the narrow gauge trains ran from Broken Hill. The standard gauge trains on the nearby new line don't stop here and don't require water.

Chemicals in Leek

Tennants Fine Chemicals Ltd in Leek was, until 2011, a subsidiary of the Tessenderlo Group, the works having previously been owned by the Coutaulds Group. The site opened in 1920 producing and dyeing fabrics and then in 1956 chemical production began to replace the fabrics business. 1987 saw the start of aroma chemicals manufacturing and today the business concentrates on acetate esters and aroma chemicals.

Three QJ class locomotives under the sand towers at the Daban depot on the Jitong Railway. This was the largest surviving steam depot at the time with so many locomotives coming on and off trains on an entirely steam worked section of the line.

High Barn limekiln, Rosgill, Cumbria. This draw kiln would have served local agricultural improvement. It is in reasonably good condition.
