Hell's Mouth. H. A. N. W. E. everyone!
Another one from this place. The last one was from my sister this year. I've not yet been here in foul weather but can imagine the despair and terror of those ships' crews driven ashore here - and they were, in their thousands!
Gabi Lombardo, Robert Swanson, sea-herdorf, Jörg and 51 other people have particularly liked this photo

Andy Rodker club has replied to José Manuel Polo clubAndy Rodker club has replied to Jenny McIntyre clubIt looks so benign in calm, summery weather, doesn't it!
But there are horror stories here, not least of wrecking, a practice that the locals here, and all along the coast, gleefully participated in, namely grabbing anything of value from the wreck and if there were survivors, kill them and steel their jewellery etc. Some say 'tweren't so. Most however, think it was indeed the case!

But everyone's reality is different of course! Pleased you like it anyway!
Best wishes,

I love the sky and cloud formations and the detail you've captured. The colour of the sea is lovely.
There is quite a good poem here: www.poemhunter.com/poem/hell-s-mouth which I think really gives you an idea of how perilous this place could be.
Andy Rodker club has replied to Keith Burton clubAnd thanks too for the clip of the excellent poem! Yes, I think it must be of this place, though there are plenty of other rocky disasters-waiting-to-happen along this and many other coasts!
